The TECT Auditorium spans more than 4500m², and is an ideal venue for trade shows, conferences and exhibitions. This bustling Tauranga hub is popular among exhibitors and guests alike.
The TECT Auditorium comprises of six courts to cater for a variety of sporting codes, as well as playing host to trade shows, conferences and exhibitions.
A variety of popular Bay Venues sporting leagues including basketball, netball, volleyball, soccer and turbo touch are held in the auditorium throughout the year. Each court has an electronic scoreboard and features state-of-the-art timber sprung floors. Skylights run the length and breadth of the auditorium to let in natural daylight .
The roof covering both auditoriums has been constructed using a special, clear span truss system. What this means is there are no beams or poles present which could interfere with the exhibition or concert space.
The circulation areas enjoy expansive views towards the Papamoa Hills and out across Mount Maunganui.
Two control rooms (ideal for officials when running a tournament) and offices complete the interior, while dedicated ticketing booths and a landscaped plaza enhance facilities at the eastern end of the building.
The venue comes with many advantages, often commented upon by organisers and attendees. These include free, easy-access carparking and easy access for exhibitors (courtesy of two large loading bay doors) as well as carpet tiles which are available to complete the fit-out for exhibitions.
